• 1:10Presentation: Riki Juster, Lamorinda Spirit Van • Riki Juster presented on Lamorinda Spirit Van, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary and has a mission of helping older adults remain independent, safe, and connected to their communities for as long as possible, by providing transportation assistance. • Lamorinda Spirit Van provides door-to-door transportation for adults age 60+ and individuals with disabilities in Lafayette, Moraga, and Orinda, with service extending to Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, Concord, and Martinez. Rides support a variety of needs, including medical appointments, shopping, personal care, classes, social visits, and community activities. • The program operates Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with flexible scheduling when possible. The fleet includes five accessible vehicles, with grant funding secured for two replacement vehicles. • Spirit Van emphasized that it is more than a transportation service, it is a community connection program. In FY25-26, the program provided more than 5,200 rides and served over 600 registered passengers.

• 1:35Preview of SMAC’s presentation to the Accessibility Advisory Committee (AAC) • SMAC is scheduled to present to the AAC in July 2026 on the roles of ACOA and SMAC. • The group reviewed an expedited version of Jim Donnelley’s planned presentation and provided feedback, including a recommendation to more clearly highlight opportunities for collaboration and discuss AAC’s role as a transit authority. • Thomas will make grammatical and stylistic edits to the presentation.

• 2:15Programming Reports/Updates • Myeisha Williams agreed to present at the September 2026 SMAC meeting. The committee also discussed potential agenda items for August, including an AAC debrief and identifying additional speakers. • Potential future speakers and topics were discussed, including GoGo Grandparents and Glydways (“Mass Transit Redefined”), as well as updates on Richmond’s efforts to launch its point-to-point travel service through Richmond Moves and explore adult tricycles as a transportation option. • Myeisha provided an update on Tri Delta Transit, including the transition to a new contractor, Keolis, effective July 1, replacing Transdev. The transition is progressing well, with additional supervisors on the road, dedicated dispatchers, and no service impacts reported; further details will be shared during the September presentation.
